We have been experimenting with different forms of punctuation. Students wrote examples of sentences using question marks. Ask your child to write sentences using a question mark. Here is a student's example:
Olympics
Today we discussed some of the games played at the winter olympics and took a virtual tour of the olympic village in Sochi using google maps. Here is the link: https://www.google.ca/maps/@43.407623,39.955706,3a,75y,200h,90t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1sRP4tgLPbJmkAAAQJKfgS3w!2e0!3e11
We also discussed the flags from each country and some of their meanings. We started to create our own flags as well!
Reading & Writing
Please ensure you are reading with your child each night. They can read a book or on Raz-Kids. Once students have finished, ask them to write about the story.
They can:
- Describe their favourite part and why
- Explain the events that happened in the beginning, middle and end
- Describe the characters
- Explain the problem/solution
Daily practice with reading and writing is extremely important!

- Fancy Friday is this friday - wear your fanciest clothing and bring your best manners!
