Vowels
Today we discussed vowels and how important they are to the english language. Did you know, all english words have at least one vowel? We tested this out - check out below!

Please ask your child: What are the vowels? What vowels are in your first name? What vowels are in your last name?

Here is a quick video to watch about the importance of vowels: http://www.starfall.com/n/skills/vowels/load.htm?f

Caterpillars - Painted Lady Butterflies
We are so excited that our caterpillars have arrived! Today we spent some time making our observations about the caterpillars and their habitat. Here is a video of what we saw.
After we made our observations and drew our sketches, we thought of some questions we had. Here are the questions we seek to answer!
How many legs do caterpillars have?
Where is the caterpillars head?
What is the yellow stuff made from?
Are the caterpillars spikey?
Do caterpillars have moms?
How many days does a caterpillar stay in a chrysalis?
How long does a caterpillar eat leaves?
How long does it make for a caterpillar to make a chrysalis?
Do they have teeth?
Hw did they make a chrysalis?
When their mom lays the egg, do they die?
Are the little pieces of dark yellow, sugar?
Do they jump?
How old are they?
Where does the butterfly come from?
Where in the life cycle does it become a caterpillar and a pupa?
How does a caterpillar breathe?
Why do caterpillars eat so much?
Why is one up at the top and moving around?
What does a caterpillar do in the winter?
What does a caterpillar do in the spring?
Why do caterpillars make a chrysalis?
Why do they have to turn into caterpillars? Can they turn into something else?

Here is an awesome movie of what we look forward to see in the upcoming weeks!
